Feline Leukaemia Virus gp70 Antibody (C11D8)

Product: Nithiamide

Feline Leukaemia Virus gp70 Antibody (C11D8) Summary

Immunogen
Made to Viral FELINE LEUKAEMIA VIRUS gp70
Specificity
NB100-65565 recognizes the gp85/gp70 envelope glycoprotein of feline leukaemia virus. The antibody specifically recognizes the epitope defined by amino acids 214-218 of the gp70 sequence (aa MGPNL). Some weak cross-reactivity with the sequence MGPLL found in the FeLV p15e membrane protein may also occur. This antibody effectively neutralises all three FeLV subgroups (A,B and C).

Background

FeLV is a retrovirus (family Oncovirinae) that can cause severe immunosuppression, severe non regenerative anemia, and a variety of neoplasms. The 3 main subtypes (FeLVA, FeLVB and FeLVC) may act independently or together to cause a variety of diseases. The major envelope glycoprotein (gp70) is used to bind to target cells and varies with the FeLV subtype.
