This antibody reacts strongly with human von Willebrand Factor or Factor VIII Related Antigen in both plasma, using RIA or ELISA, and in tissues by immunofluorescence or immunoperoxidase staining. The antibody is suitable for use with frozen and formalin fixed tissue sections. Detecta a band at ~310 by Western Blot.

Background
von Willebrand Factor is synthesized by endothelial cells, causing adhesion of platelets to injured vessel walls and functions as a carrier and stabilizer for coagulation of Factor VIII. It is one of the most widely used endothelial cell markers for studying angiogenesis / neovascularization.
