Background

E2A proteins are ubiquitously expressed. They are important transcription factors downstream of the T-cell receptor (TCR) signal that regulate multiple stages of thymocyte development and suppress T-cell lymphoma. Deficiencies in E2A promote age-dependent autoimmune diseases, such as T lymphoma.
