Western blotting (0.5-4 ug/ml), immunoprecipitation (10-20 ug/ml) and Immunofluorescence (5-10 ug/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. The antibody detects a 33 kDa protein, corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of Prohibitin on SDS-PAGE immunoblots, in samples from human, mouse and rat origins.

Background
Prohibitin is an evolutionarily conserved protein located in the inner membrane of mitochondria. Prohibitin shows antiproliferative activity and has been proposed to play a role in normal cell cycle regulation, replicative senescence, cellular immortalization and tumor suppression.
