WB: Preliminary experiments gave bands at approx. 50 kDa band and 35 kDa band in human adipose lysates after 0.1 ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the bands we observe given the calculated size of 180 kDa band according to NP_002327.2. Both detected bands were successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide (and BLAST results with the immunizing peptide sequence did not identify any other proteins to explain the additional bands). IHC-P: Human kidney shows luminar membrane staining in DCT.

Background
LRP6 is essential for the Wnt/beta catenin signaling pathway, probably by acting as a coreceptor together with Frizzled for Wnt. It is a specific, high-affinity receptor for DKK1 and DKK2, but not DKK3. The interaction with DKK1 blocks LRP6-mediated Wnt/beta catenin signaling via LRP6 removal via Kremen proteins-mediated endocytosis.
